Advocacy via Legal System.
Social Workers are expected to advocate for clients and communities of concern. And, students are expected to be able to identify local, state or national policies such as laws and legislation that impact problems or area of concern. We are all expected to advocate verbally as well as in writing. Students will present a 2-page summary of this project, and be prepared to discuss this in class. The purpose of the assignment is to be able to demonstrate that you are capable of conducting this research, writing a response paper, and being able to discuss this in class in a persuasive manner. What is the social problem or challenge related to human rights, social and/or economic justice that you are interested in? Why are you interested in this topic?
