Within your answer you need to: 1. Connect your analysis of “algorithmic management” with “traditional” management theory (Scientific Management, Bureaucratic Management & Human Relations) – that is, you need to think about where we can place “algorithmic management” in relation to past management practices. 2. Utilise one of the ethical paradigms discussed in this unit (see pages 191-193 of your textbook) to frame your answer. 3. Identify and critically analyse at least 2 practical implications for workers who are managed by “algorithms” (in-terms of how work is controlled and organised) in the gig economy (a description of the gig economy and critical analysis is provided below).
