The problem that exists in the case study provided is a mismatch between the company’s mission and employees’ mission. The mission of the company is to use massage to heal clients. In this sense, massage is viewed as a therapy for healing. On the other hand, Raquel believes that massage is a source of peace and balance. The therapeutic role of a massage is for the client to attain the peace and balance they require that would improve the quality of their lives. Though both the company and the employee have the same ultimate goal, to heal clients, they are working on two different missions. The existing gap is likely to affect the quality of services in the business. Consequently, there will be reduced customer engagement and job satisfaction, which may lead to low returns. In this sense, the employee goals do not align with the company goals.
