For this assignment you will write an essay in which you will 1. Analyze the rhetorical situation in which a single, short non-fiction text emerges and 2. Analyze how the author developed their text in response to their rhetorical situation. This non-fiction text (e.g. an op-ed, long-form journalistic article, speech, vlog entry, podcast episode, etc.) must be published within your lifetime. 1.Establish the rhetorical situation that surrounds the text, such as the discourse community from which it emerges. In this way you will outline how the circumstances in which the author wrote influenced how (and why) the author wrote the text in the manner they did.•Please use the elements of the rhetorical situation on the following page to develop your analysis.
