What should I do? This assignment asks you to provide an overview of your research topic, in relation to the annotations you wrote in assignment one, and the feedback you received on that assignment. The difference between the annotated bibliography and the literature review is that the latter is organised by themes rather than authors, and you are expected to provide overview comments on key ideas and methods that work across the articles that you have read. You can, if you wish, replace some of the articles used in assignment one with new readings. Write a critical review of your topic, based on the articles. What is your topic, and why is it important? Why do your selected authors think your topic is important? What theories, methods and evidence do your authors use to make sense of how your topic affects the social world? Are there significant disagreements among your sources over the nature of the problem at hand; what it is, what is to be done about it, and how to best go about researching it? Position yourself in the debate. Which of your authors or studies provide the most persuasive, interesting and/or useful insight on your topic, and why do you find it credible and/or useful?
