Each part listed below must be included in the paper (there are 3 parts) This assignment is designed to emphasize the following course outcomes: Identify quality and productivity standards in the workplace. Identify process controls in an organization. Identify the 7 Great Wastes + 1 I. Part One – Introduction – a. When explaining what you will be covering in this paper, in your own words, describe what Continuous Improvement is and how it relates to the PDCA Cycle and the 7 Great Wastes Plus II. Part Two – Body – a Relate your own experience to the Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) Cycle: i. Reflect back on something you fixed or a problem you solved – how did you use the PDCA Cycle? (Again, don’t forget to clearly call out and state each part of the PDCA Cycle when describing how you used it.) ii. What standards (controls) did you set? (What was the clear object set or process steps to be follow for staff to meet or a defect/issue would happen? This is used in the CHECK part of t PDCA.) b. In your daily life, using the 7 Great Wastes Plus 1 Word document/template attached below (Process Walk). Next, identify each waste and a real example of it as you go about your day. Next, write up and describe your experience your experience by answering the following questions: i. Describe each waste and what you found as you “learned to see” waste. ii. Which waste was the biggest issue of the eight for you? iii Which wastes are connected and impact each other? (Wastes that are connected means that if you do one of them, it causes the other to increase too.) iv. Describe in your paper what it was like to do this task (See attached sample below) III. Part Three: Summary – a. Think over these experiences you had applying CI in your work or life and summarize what you learned in a paragraph or two. i. What was the impact of doing this assignment/insights have you had about applying CI? (For example, What was your reaction? What was the impact on you and your team/family? What will you do next?) *FYI! Do NOT forget to reference the course materials you used to address the assignment sections (A-C) in this format: E-text name, chapter title & p. #, Lecture heading title, paragraph # (or top, middle or bottom section of the lecture) Narrated presentation slide title heading, & slide #s.
