You are called into a parent meeting to provide some assistance with a young student ( grade 2 or 3) who demonstrates out of control behaviors in several but not all classes. The student has relatively good behavior in physical education and art classes, but music, library classes and all other settings are locations where behavior can be unacceptable and disruptive. You are asked to outline a plan for determining possible triggers for behavior, and steps you would take in consulting with staff to manage and decrease potential flare-ups in out of control behaviors. Describe a. the plan to investigate behavior triggers, b. project what behavior management skills staff will need to address and decrease behaviors c. consulting skills you will be employing to assist staff in increasing their skill in behavior management. and d. how you will collect data to determine improvement or diminishment of this student behavior problem.
