Criminology Models

Criminology Models.

Penologists, criminologists who study prisons and jails, have developed several models to understand inmate behavior. They include: Deprivation Model, Importation Model, Integrated/Multilevel Model, and the Administrative Control Model. Choose ONE of these models of how you think or believe our correctional facilities are being maintained or operating. Which one seems the most accurate? Furthermore, how does inmate violence and misconduct play a part in which model is most effective? How does signed legislation such as the Safe Prisons Communications Act (2009) and Prison Rape Elimination Act (2003) play a significant role in inmate behavior? Please follow these requirements: – Paper must be 2 pages – Reference page required – APA format required (See owl.purdue.edu) – 12 pt. Font / Times New Roman – Double spaced – Minimum (3) references. Please use this as one of the references: DeLisi, M., & Conis, P. J. (2019). American corrections: theory, research, policy, and practice. Burlington, MA: Jones & Bartlett Learning. The definitions of the models are in the attachment, which is Chapter 9 of the above reference book. Utilize scholarly literature (articles) for the references. Remember, Wikipedia is not a good reference. Hint: Chapter 9 gives a good definition of every model along with good references, explore and utilize.
