Description

Individual scope of advanced practice with essay Students are required to develop an individual scope of advanced practice document and write an essay to evidence two of the four themes that underpin advanced practice: ‘leadership and collaborative working’ and ‘developing self and others’. The scope of practice document and essay will include supporting evidence and critical analysis of own practice, identifying strengths and gaps. The individual scope of advanced practice document is not included in the word limit but form part of the appendices.

Learning outcomes assessed: 1-5 Assessment 1 guidelines and criteria Assessment guidelines The essay can take the format of a critical reflection, workplace development project or action learning piece. Students are expected to refer to their own practice to identify where their practice meets the domains, where there are gaps and how they plan to achieve outstanding domains. Assessment criteria* Scope of Practice document: Present a completed scope of practice document that provides evidence of leadership and developing self and others in current role. Essay: Critical analysis of current role in relation to advanced practice, with a focus on leadership and developing self and others Critical evaluation of leadership and change management theories in relation to current role and practice environment Critical analysis and synthesis of the evidence-base pertinent to leadership and developing self and others Present a comprehensive action plan which demonstrates outline of future activities to further develop advanced practice and recognises the professional issues that impact the advanced practitioner Description and evidence from practice will show either advanced or advancing practice. Where practice does not explicitly meet all aspects of the domains the student must identify the gaps and make explicit a plan for achieving these in
