Destination Report Requirements

Assessment Task No 1 (Marketing Campaign). This assessment is divided into two parts. Part A is an individual task that requires students to report findings of an Attraction in Melbourne. Part B is a group task which requires each group to develop a marketing campaign plan for an event to promote the Attraction chosen by the group. Part A: Individual Task: Tourist Attraction/Destination Report Requirements Requirements Choose one tourist attraction/destination in Melbourne (for Melbourne students) and Sydney (for Sydney students) for this assessment. You need to conduct some research on the attraction/destination. Report back the following information using the Report Template provided on the LMS. 1. Brief background of the attraction/destination SWOT analysis ï‚· Strengths – what areas do this tourist attraction/destination do well, compared to competitors ï‚· Weaknesses – what areas need improvement ï‚· Opportunities – these may be areas (usually out of the control of the organisation) that may offer new business possibilities, for example extension of operating hours ï‚· Threats – these may be areas (usually out of the control of the organisation) that could negatively impact business, like a major construction near the destination that may affect business for a year or two years. Target Profile: The bases of market segmentation and target market of this Attraction/Destination You need to have at least one reference. Criteria used to grade this task Refer to the Rubric available in LMS for detailed marking allocation Submission Details Submit the short report (700 words) via the LMS dropbox by Week 4, Friday.
