Development of Faith in the Young Adult.
Read Chapter 3 in the textbook to p. 89. Focus especially on pp. 82 – 89, which deal with the three developmental tasks of the young adult (p.82). They are: 1. The struggle for independence; 2. experimentation with options; 3. The quest for intimacy. Relate each of them to the development of faith and morality in the young adult. In doing so, you must use all three of the following: 1. the general spiritual foundations presented in class, 2. the major insights of cognitive-behavior psychology (concerning irrational beliefs etc.), 3. the major insights of existential- humanistic psychology, which concern the search for meaning etc. Psychoanalysis (unlocking the unconscious) does not have to be mentioned.
