Assignment 1: Developmental History Paper (35 points) Students are required to write an APA formatted paper of at least 10 pages that frames the development of an individual from at least two of the theories and/or or models of development (frameworks) presented in class. Papers are to be written in 12-point font, double-spaced, and must include a title page, abstract, and reference page. At least 10 references must be cited in the paper, 6 of which must be from peer-reviewed journal articles. This assignment is due on Oct. 30, via Blackboard by 11:59PM. To complete this assignment, students will interview an individual about their developmental history including transitions, milestones, and obstacles. Students must then include the following elements in the paper: 1. Theories/models of development o Thorough description of frameworks o Rationale for why the frameworks are selected (think why they are the best fit for explaining the development of the individual) o Description of how these frameworks explain the development of the individual o Highlight discrepancies between frameworks and the individual’s development (think what parts of the individual’s development is not explained by the frameworks). 2. A description of the personal strengths and limitations that fostered and inhibited the individual’s developmental transitions 3. A description of the social environmental strengths and limitations that fostered and inhibited the individual’s developmental transitions
