Empirical literature

Assessment details REPORT (40%) Objective: • To apply best practice knowledge to a real-world organisational problem and demonstrate your understanding of the topic and how you might address a real organisational problem. You are required to write a report where you develop a solution (or intervention) for a particular issue but will need to reference the literature to show it is evidence-based. The solution you propose must go beyond replication of simple extension of existing strategies in the literature and should demonstrate creativity in the identification of the issue(s) and intervention(s). The rationale (the reason why) for the chosen approach for each element of the intervention should be clearly stated and supported concerning empirical literature. The report should be approximately 3000 words and should broadly follow the structure below. Overview – Abstract Contents Outline of structure & content of the report Statement of the issue/problem (reference the scenario) Description of the key components of your solution including a discussion and rationale for each of the strategies Evidence that the intervention is based on empirical research (i.e. evidence-based) Critique – Cautions, limitations and points of note relating to your approach References Appendices – Include any required additional materials and details of resources accessed. If you print details of journal or book chapters from an on-line search, include only the author(s), title, publication details and abstract. Please use the complete page where possible
