Enterprise Leadership.
Part 1: Group presentations (1 x 15 minute presentation per group). Groups will be given 15 minutes for peer discussions and feedback – this should be seen as information sharing sessions and so are similar to what would happen in a business meeting. Enterprise Leadership students will be assessed on both their individual contributions and their collaborations within teams. All group marks will be moderated through a Self and Peer Assessment survey using an on-line database (SPARK Plus – vUWS) which each student must complete and submit by the due date. Spark Plus will be opened in week 10 and will close at the end of week 12. Students must attend their week 4 tutorial to form groups, complete a group form and submit this group form to the drop box in the week 4 learning module in vUWS. Note: students who do not attend their tutorial in week 4 will not be placed into a group and must submit a special consideration request and email their tutor to justify their absence. This has direct relevance to a unit dealing with the field of leadership and management, and preparing students for a career in business, either in the short or long term. Nobody in the business world would consider missing a business meeting, or even arriving late for a meeting; so this expectation should be adopted by all students enrolled in this unit. In addition, nobody working in real world organisations would dream of letting the team down by not actively participating and contributing to the team’s activities and tasks. There is also an expectation that teams act professionally and display common courtesies including appropriate communication methods and content, dress appropriately and treat each other respectfully.
