 Description INTRODUCTION & RESEARCH QUESTIONS: In recent years, another new education platform, Smartly, has been gaining more and more attention due its revolutionising teaching and networking approach. Smartly provides not only free online curriculum to its students but also awards its students internationally recognised MBA and Executive MBA academic credentials. It’s fascinating how this free online MBA has such high profile with over 80% of the candidates from top 30 schools. Smartly is also gaining very strong presence on Social Media, particularly LinkedIn, with most Smartly students listing and posting about their elite MBA programs on LinkedIn. While many studies have explored the possibilities and challenges of many other MOOC platforms, there is little discussion on the New Smartly MBA. This paper attempts to address the gaps in the literature by examining the role of Smartly MBA in the latest education landscape, how it is leveraging the technology and resources available especially social media to impact the engagement and recruitment. And students and public perceptions and attitude towards this new method of learning. R1.
