A 6-8 page (cover sheet and reference page is not included in the page count), double-spaced, 12-point font, with 1-inch margins class paper of original material is required for this course. The paper should be written in accordance with APA guidelines (see the Academic Resources page in the Start Here area for additional support material to help you write your class paper). The instructor must approve all subject topics. The paper should be written in Microsoft Office Word and submitted via the Class Paper assignment link in the Assignments area of the course by the end of Module 8. The student will select an element topic relating to general industry occupational safety and health to discuss within this paper. Your topic can cover any area relating to OSHA or OSHA programs (i.e., ergonomics, machine guarding, lockout/tagout). You may find it interesting to write about new technologies affecting worker safety (automation, new guarding techniques, PPE equipment, etc.). Save your assignment using a naming convention that includes your first and last name and the activity number (or description). Should design a course of action to solve the proposed research problem using multi-disciplinary principles, if appropriate. The evidence should come from valid sources. References should be complete and reflect appropriate sources. Comprehension Paper should contain well-supported argument based on relevant concepts and theories, providing new ideas to the applicable discipline. Argument should be logical and use examples, evidence, research, and/or data from course content and from valid, external information sources. Application Decisions and conclusions should be a result of analysis and synthesis of evidence. Should formulate resolution and recommendations, and may contribute to improvements in the applicable discipline. Conclusion could include possible consequences and outcome scenarios.
