Do a web search and read in your textbook about Alexander Calder. Discuss the main influences on Calder’s sculptural forms, and why he gravitated to the materials, forms and methods he uses to make his scuptural work. Compare Calder to one other artist/sculptor of his time such as Constantin Brancusi, Naum Gabo, Jean Tinguely, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Alberto Giacometti or Marcel Duchamp: what do they have in common, and what is different?
