Ian Cook paper.
The food picked is tomatoes. it has to be similar to Ian Cook paper in structure only. http://www.followthethings.com/grocery.shtml use the link above to see the tomato pathway please. and use multiple sources please Similar to Ian Cook et al, you will pick a food commodity to research and “follow” along its path in the commodity chain through phases of production, distribution and consumption. In small groups of 4-5 students, your research should include aspects of the social and economic conditions under which your food product travels from farm to plate. This research should be based on peer-reviewed articles, media sources, and books (at least 10 sources). The “follow the thing” research should be concisely summarized in a written paper between 1200-1500 words (excluding references). However, like Cook’s paper, and the other commodity stories shared on the website (www.followthethings.com), you can feel free to be creative with your paper format by using a narrative approach, or including images, or by making a mini-zine. One final paper/project per person is due in class and uploaded to Canvas on October 16, 2019. On October 16 and October 18, each group will present their Follow-the-Thing research by way of a short 8-10 minute oral presentation. You will work together in a group for the research and presentation; however, you are responsible for submitting your own original written paper. Each student will be assessed individually.
