Description Coursework 2 – 50% of the module mark Assignment Title: Explore and describe a selection of physiological approaches and assessment methods. Learning outcomes to be assessed in this piece of coursework: 1. LO 1: Identify a range of psychological and physiological approaches to the sport & exercise environment 2. LO 2: Describe theories and assessment methods used within the sport & exercise environment. Assignment Brief: CW 2. Students will write an essay exploring the discipline of exercise physiology and describe theories and assessment methods used. Essay Structure: 2000 Words (with 10% discretion) You will introduce the topic area and highlight physiological approaches and theories, describing assessment methods used within sport and exercise environments. Throughout your responses you will be assessed on : – academic writing style – presentation – citation and referencing (for your essay) Assessment Criteria: Marks will be allocated for: Explanation of history and background of exercise physiology (25%). Explanation of physiological concepts and approaches used within SES (25%). Identification of five physiological assessment methods used within sport and exercise environments (25%). Explanation when assessment methods are used in the sport and exercise environment (25%) Assignment Length: Essay 2000 words There is a 10% discretion on the word count.
