Leadership Style COLLAPSE

Need to comment on peer post for 100 words The question is Leadership Style COLLAPSE What are the key characteristics of good leaders and effective leaders? What methods might an individual employ to develop additional leadership skills? What should you do if your concept of a good leader does not align with that of your organisation? friends post is below Good morning everybody My opening line is going to be: Leaders help others to get the desired outcome from every single effort that each team member makes. After analyzing several definitions of leadership, it is clear that there is not only one way to effective in terms of leadership, but most important is necessary to understand that good leaders share especial abilities that allow them to shape and guide others. According to DuBrin (2016), one of the essential characteristics of an effective leader is emotional intelligence, and this skill involves some of the other primary keys that help to form an effective leader, areas like self-confident, humility, sense of humor and authenticity, as emotional intelligence has the ability to break mental patterns and help us to create awareness of our context and environment, allowing us to make the right decision at the right time. Besides, It was found that resiliency, endurance, and persistence are their fundamental abilities in today’s world, as the instant gratifications is blocking us from getting something beyond our expectations, from my point of view, everything worth it is always going to take an extra effort so I could not agree more with Koehn (2013) As Spears (2010) claims, empathy is the ability to put yourself in other people shoes, and that helps to understand the context of any situation based on each perception, not generalizing as it may affect your decisions as a leader, so empathy allows leaders to be more approachable and trustworthy These definitions indicate that leadership is the combination of variables that form an ordinary person to help others regardless of the contexts and make an extraordinary impact on their lives. If we analysis one by one there are not relevant individually as the combination is what matters, however, every single skill mentioned by the authors is essential at the end of the day DuBrin, A. J. (2016). Leadership: research findings, practice, and skills (8th ed.). Mason, OH: South-Western Cengage Learning. Koehn, N.F. (2013). Crisis Leadership: Lessons for Here and Now. Retrieved from https://youtu.be/KhhnoK8yd3g Spears, L. C. (2010). Character and Servant Leadership: Ten Characteristics. The journal of virtues and leadership, 25-30. ANOTHER FRIENDS POST IS BELOW, Need 100 words for this post aswell The significance of effective leadership cannot be overemphasized in any organization. Leaders irrespective of their designation are saddled with the responsibility of providing direction and guidance to the people or team they lead. In order to attain goals and objectives of any organization, leaders should develop strategies to maximize the outputs of the teams they lead. There are some key characteristics that result in effective leadership. Among them are their ability to share their vision, demonstrate integrity, lead by example, acknowledge the success attained by their teams, motivate and inspire their teams to maximize productivity, communicate effectively, make tough decisions etc. It important for individuals to develop additional leadership skills in order to position themselves at an advantaged position to take up challenging roles and responsibilities. Leadership training courses and programs are very important strategies and methods to adopt when an individual wants to acquire additional leadership skills. These courses and programs should be structured to sharpen communication skills, skills necessary to enhance effective decision-making, skills that will enable them delegate roles and responsibilities effectively, supervise team members in order to ensure accountability. In some instances, an individual’s idea of a good leader conflicts with that of his/her organization. In that scenario, the author suggest that the individual should communicate his/her views to the authorities involved. This will help synchronize both the company’s ideology and that of the individual with the view to enhance performance and productivity. REFERENCE Neider, L., & Schriesheim, C. (Eds.). (2002).
