Perform a brief summary of the current strategy and key external and internal issues/factors for your strategic renewal firm.

Be sure to use the ideas we’ve learned thus far in the course. First, briefly summarize their current strategy. Then, for the external analysis you can use Porter’s Five Forces, of course. You don’t need to do an extensive analysis of all five forces. Instead, pick the most important ones.

What should their management (and you, as their proxy), be thinking about and working on?

We talked about resources, capabilities, and core competencies. Which of these are important for your firm?

Are they using them well, or not? Keep in mind that this analysis should inform the ideas you put forward for feedback in a few weeks.

This is not supposed to be a hefty, detailed analysis. It’s strategic, so it should be from a macro-view and focused on a small number of important concepts. Cite sources that you use or quote, but it’s NOT a research paper. You may do this mostly based on your existing knowledge of the company.
