Answer the following questions which were raised by employees.
Why am I not being paid the same as co-workers who are in the identical job that I am in, especially since we were all hired on November 1, 2018? It appears that we aren’t being paid fairly
I don’t think the company is fair when it comes to paying its new hires. How do you determine how much to pay new employees?
We understand that incentives are not necessarily the same for all employees.
- Please explain why and give us some examples.
- Are there any incentives that allemployees receive? If so, can you give us an example?
Our CEO’s compensation is known to all.
- How does an organization determine what an executive is paid?
- Is it the same for all organizations? Explain.
In one of our company publications, there was an article that said that when we think of our compensation, we should remember that it includes direct financial payments and indirect financial payments.
- Can you define what each of these payments are?
- Also, please provide an example for each.
We understand that the company’s sales force is paid differently than we are. In fact, one of the district managers was sitting with us at lunch and talked about how sales employees are compensated. All we kept hearing was that the “combo” is this company’s approach. She said there are three ways that most sales people are paid. We don’t understand. We also think that sales employees are getting a better pay “deal” than we are.
- List and define the three ways that most sales employees can be paid?
- Define what is meant by the “combo” approach which the company uses to pay sales employees. Why did the company select this approach?
- Why do sales employees need to be paid differently from the rest of us? Provide an example.
