Students will select one NCAA Infractions case from the past ten (10) years that was classified as either a “major” case under the old NCAA Enforcement guidelines or as a Level I or II case under the new NCAA Enforcement guidelines. The project is due on the final day of the course at 10:00 a.m. (via Blackboard submission only), with checkpoints during weeks two, four and six. Specifically, students will select their case by the conclusion of week two, will submit an annotated bibliography by the conclusion of week four and will submit a project outline by the end of week six. This assignment must be thoroughly researched using appropriate outside literature resources. Please make sure that the paper is written using APA style (6th edition). It is critical the paper has a well- constructed introduction that contains a clear statement of purpose and a discussion of the background of the topic. Ensure that the body of the paper accomplishes the stated purpose and approach, and that the summary analysis, conclusions, and recommendations are based on a clear logic. The criteria for the research paper will be as follows (with additional information located in the assignment syllabus): Use and inclusion of more than seven (7) nationally-published references or industry-related resources.
