Non-violent offenders in prison and rehabilitation programs: Why Do Recidivism Rates Differ?.

For this assignment, your task is to specify your own research question and motivate this question using existing research. As a reminder, research questions should be general enough to be interesting and specific enough to be testable. There is no one formula for writing a research question. You will likely make multiple changes to your question based on feedback. This is just your first formal attempt at drafting a question. In addition to specifying a research question, you are also drafting the introduction to your research proposal. Introductions tell the reader why they should care about your project. The introduction should address the following questions: • How does your research question relate to the major topics or debates of interest for scholars and other people interested in your field of study? • How is your research question distinct from what previous researchers have done? How does your research build on and contribute to this body of work? • What is the motivation for your study? Why is this a topic worth exploring? Your introduction section should be 1-2 double-spaced pages. At the end of the introduction you will include your research question. For now, you can signal the question by stating “Research Question: ….” so that I can identify your question. You do not need to directly cite all of your sources from the annotated bibliography. However, those sources will likely motivate your question and draft of the introduction section for your proposal. Include a works cited/references page to cite the sources you reference in your introduction.PLEASE MAKE SURE THE SOURCES ARE FROM A PEER-REVIEWED ARTICLE.
