Interview two nonprofits and prepare a paper comparing and contrasting them Key questions to consider as students prepare for Nonprofit Agency interview – What is the mission of the organization? Has it changed over time? How? Why? – What’s unique about the mission? Why should it be done by a nonprofit organization? – What market do they serve? Who are their clients? – How do they market their services, and to whom? – What is the strategy for carrying out this mission? – Does the organization have organizational plans? If so which ones and how are they used/integrated? – Is the organization effective? What metrics would you look at to answer this, and how does the organization judge its own effectiveness? – What is their budget process? What is their annual budget? How are they funded? – What does the management structure look like? – How would you describe the culture of the organization, and how is it developed and maintained? – Do they utilize volunteers and if so in what capacity? – What does the relationship between the ED and the Board of Directors look like? What role does the Board of Directors play in the organization? – What types of assessments do they use, what’s the purpose, how do they use them? – What types of challenges and Issues does the agency face? (shortterm and or longterm)
