Assessment task 1: Essay (Individual) Objective(s): This addresses subject learning objective(s): 1 and 2 Weight: 30% Task: Write an Academic Essay using two organizational theories to analyse an organization of your choice. Requirements: AIMS of this first Assignment: 1. Demonstrate an appreciation of The Value (Together With Limitations) Of Some Major Organisation Theories to illustrate these multiple perspectives. 2. Demonstrate the capacity to apply theories to a real organizational context 3. Demonstrate a Critical Capacity (ie identifying and questioning “taken-for-granted” assumptions)in assessing the merits and limitations of social theories in the organisation. Bonus points: Considering that some theories are more complex and sophisticated than others there is also a bonus for those students who choose to meet the challenge.
