You will read carefully the Preamble to the Constitution. You will explain (a) how does the Preamble reflect concerns of the 1780s, and try to demonstrate the importance of the Constitution, and (b) choose three phrases from the Preamble and explain them in detail, going into their legal and historical meaning. Preamble to the Constitution: We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
