Self Analysis Paper (. using the results of the assessments: Myers Briggs Type Indicator & Strong Interest Inventory ).

This is a self analysis paper using the results of the assessments: Myers Briggs Type Indicator & Strong Interest Inventory Assessments, Paper Guidelines: • Include outside sources i.e.) Carl Jung (including text) to support your answers when you cover the following questions: a. What feelings did you experience before, during, and after the test? b. Did any results of these tests surprise you? c. How would you say that the act of taking these tests and becoming aware of the results prepare you in your career? d. What is your opinion of the ‘dual process’ in counseling? e. Would you use these tests with your clients? If so, how would you do so? Section d. is not necessarily clear initially for some people… The parameters for ‘dual process’ are defined for our purposes as the process by which we, as counselors, learn from our own personal development, and the experience of being with people, specifically; co-workers, supervisors, and clients. We learn(ed/will learn about the interface of family i.e.) members, generational messaging re: work ethic, decisions regarding procreation, etc. Knowing our results from the MBTI and SII how will the aforementioned facets play in our professional life as a mental health counselor. In other words after having taken these two assessments (undoubtedly learning about self, and thereby increasing self-knowledge); how do you imagine knowing this ultra-valuable personal information would inform aspects of your life as a mental health professional? More specifically, how will knowing your results from the: Myers Briggs Type Indicator dichotomies Extraversion — Introversion (way to energize) Sensing — Intuition (way to intake information) Thinking — Feeling (way to make decisions) Judging — Perceiving (way to approach life) Strong Interest Inventory (traits & environments) Realistic Enterprising Investigative Social Artistic Conventional Affect… your interactions and perceptions of clients, clients’ problems and conflicts, your relationships with supervisors, colleagues, co-workers, contacts within your professional network? All of whom have similar or distinct types and preferences. What areas of improvement and/or methods of self-preservation might your results beckon your attention for self-amelioration and/or sensitivity? More concretely, what type of vocational venue might you predict being most comfortable? i.e.) community-based, traditional clinic, etc. Is there a particular grouping of people that you might see yourself gravitate towards in your professional work knowing your results?
