Module code and title: SL517 Sport, Diversity, and Wellbeing Module leader: Dr Ben Clayton Assignment No. and type: CW1 Programme of Physical Activity Assessment weighting: 100% Assignment task Using what you have learned in this module, devise a programme of adapted sport or physical activity for either a group of older people or a group of disabled people You will need to: – Attend the key sessions delivered by some of our community partners – Select and describe the group, using appropriate theory and literature to discuss their needs – Describe the programme of adapted sport or physical activity, which you feel would benefit this group, and fully justify all of your decisions (NB remember that you are to devise your own programme of adapted activity NOT simply describe an existing disability sport such as walking football or wheelchair rugby etc). Use the knowledge you have gained from the sessions with some of our community partners and the research we have examined in class. – Using appropriate theory and literature, discuss why this programme would benefit this group of people The word count should be 2500 words +/- 10% This assignment has been designed to provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your achievement of the following module learning outcomes: LO 1 Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the principles of inclusive sport provision LO 2 Evaluate the benefits, potential outcomes and challenges arising from participation in sport and exercise by diverse groups LO 3 Produce a programme of wellbeing for a diverse group Task requirements • The assignment should be written using Ariel Size 11 or Times Roman Size 12 font. • The assignment should be 1.5 or double line-spaced. • Pages should be numbered. • Clearly state the total words used (excluding reference list) at the end of the assignment. • Collaboration with other students is not permitted on this assignment.
