Task Description and Learning Rationale We all have aspirations to achieve many things in our lives but don’t necessarily have a strategy to get there. In this course, we have discussed many detailed and specific aspects of learning, education and training, leading to the concept of the development of skills and abilities. Development is important for organisations so that they have appropriately skilled people to meet their needs, however more and more, individuals also need to independently take responsibility for their own aims and objectives as this will determine the quality of their lives. This task requires you to take charge of career planning for the most important of clients–yourself. By doing this successfully, you will be able to understand the development and planning process and apply the same skills to the needs of others or for organisations. With this in mind, your task is as follows: 1. Identify a job/position that you would like to have five years after you graduate. Obtain a job description for this role. 2. From the job description, identify the knowledge, skills, abilities and other qualities (KSAOs) you will need in order to be able to do the job successfully. 3. Consider what progress you have made towards meeting the requirements of this role so far. fdlGrades UD_BUHRM2601_2019/17_2019-07-21 19:46:08 CRICOS Provider Number: 00103D 12 /20 Course Description (Higher Education) BUHRM2601 HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT 4. What learning experiences have you undertaken so far that are relevant to this role? Describe the activities you have undertaken, and how you feel they contribute to the requirements of the role. This could include exercises and activities you did in tutorials in this or previous subjects, work experience, or selfdevelopment activities you have undertaken. You could also include any self-analysis you have undertaken, such as MBTI or other personality tests. What learning experiences do you need to undertake to meet the requirements of this role in 5 years’ time? Considering each of the KSAOs, you may need to pick up on a number of specific areas to work on. To do this, you will need to compile a collection of items (HRD portfolio) comprising information and items that will be useful in your personal HRD program. Explain the rationale for the development activities you have proposed, and what KSAO’s you believe you will achieve from these.
