The 7.9 earthquake of anchorage.
It has to be a cause and effect essay about my earthquake experience. i was stationed in anchorage november 2018. after working out at 0815 in the morning i went to the hospital to talk to my therapist and the earthquake started.it lasted for about 45 seconds. everything fell from the walls. the ceiling started to crack and the lights went out. i believed it was going to die. all of a sudden it stopped. we had to evacuate the building and people were panicking. it took me 45 mins to get home when i only lived ten mins away. the roads were cracked and all i could think of was my daughter. i hoped she was ok. i finally made it home and my plants were knocked over, movies were scattered, dishes were broken. i ran past it all and went straight up stairs to my daughters room where i seen her tv knocked on the floor. she was safe with my husband in the loft. i was so relieved then we began to asses the damages of the house. the wall was cracked all the way up to the second floor. we had no power and it was 25 degrees out side so the house was getting a bit cool with none of the heat running. we decided to go grab emergency food supplies like water and soup and MREs from a near by gas station. when we got in the car and turned on the radio they mentioned that post would be closing so everyone who lived on post would have to stay on post until further notice. the roads were cracked and it looked like huge sinkholes. when we finally made it to the gas statiom we realized everyone had the same idea. it was packed. water went from 2 dollars to 6 dollars and almost all the shelves were empty. thats when we felt another earthquake. it was the after shock. it shook the ground beneath us but not as hard. theycontinued to come for the next couple of days after.
