Last year, on June 24, Saudi Arabia announced in a royal decree read live on state television that women are allowed to drive. Allowing women to drive in Saudi Arabia is considered to be a major step forward, not only socially but also financially, since it is expected to reflect positively on the Kingdom’s economy and Saudi families’ spending power and habits.
