The Reading Summary Journal consists of two entries, one entry per reading assignment that offer a critical summary of each reading assignment. The minimum word count for each entry is 300 words, for a minimum total of 600 words for both entries. A critical summary is not merely a plot summary or a statement of your opinions. For the novels, a critical summary focuses on offering a summary that involves your own analysis, critique, and assessment of the work as a whole. For the secondary, critical readings, the same applies with a focus on clearly summarizing the author’s argument and their supporting evidence. Clearly indicate which of your summary entries correspond to which reading assignment. (2)Consider this a dialogue in which you interact with what your fellow classmates are saying about the reading and the course topics. I’ll also participate in our discussion board but in general, the work of this assignment is to sustain a discussion with each other.
