Synopsis: This course discusses the interplay of energy, environment, and resources policy. Attention is given to politics and administration of energy/ environment/ resources policy in the U.S. at all levels of government. Comparative and international aspects of the problem are also examined. Particular emphasis is given to the processes by which policy is formulated, implemented, and modified. Requirements: Class participation, a 10­15 page analytical essay addressing themes (e.g. risk in decision­making; politics; science role; etc.) cutting across all of the readings. Students need to show how the readings relate to the themes chosen.
