Training and Development and Employer Branding

1. On each of the 3 assigned conferences, you will be required to complete a research paper answering the provided questions with examples of the HR practices in 3 specific companies representing your industry. Eachsummary is worth 6% of your final grade. This component of your course work is worth 18% in total and is subject to peer review. The peer review component maTraining and Development and Employer Branding have a significant impact on your overall grade. If the peer review average given to you by your group member is 50%, your final grade will be 50% of the grade assigned to the paper. If your peer review average is 100%, your final grade will be 100% of the grade given to the paper.

1. Each team member MUST be present with a copy of the group report for the conferences. Provide a copy of the summary report to your instructor at the beginning of class. The grade for the summary is a group grade based on the work handed in. Failure to be present or to be prepared for discussion will result in a grade of 0.

2. Conference days are intended to give you an opportunity to discuss the practices in your industry with classmates representing other industries. Attendance at eachof the 3 in-class conference days and contributing to the discussions in class is worth 4% of your final grade.  This component of your course work is worth 12% in total.
   1. Each team member MUST be able to speak about the industry and discuss the differences between industries during class time.  Failure to be present or to be prepared for discussion will result in a grade of 0.
   2. On conference days, you will be expected to present the information gathered about your industry and also participate in higher level discussions with other industry participants. Your participation in the group discussion will be evaluated individually based on an in class self-refection and peer evaluation.
   3. Complete an online summary of the conference reflecting on the learning from your group discussion.
3. Throughout the assignment, original documents/web sites used should be referenced using APA format.
