Description we would like the writer to look at the topic and make improvements if applicable. i have made some changes myself from the original as i was instructed by my professor. The original title was ” Using films in developing formulaic language proficiency of low-achieving EFL students”. The new title needs to be written in the form of question, and if it is still vague, i would appreciate further recommendations, so that the dissertation is worth doing. The following information, was also submitted along with the title. The study aims to generate an insight into how to develop formulaic language proficiency of EFL students who fall behind their high-achieving peers using films as a teaching tool. The relevance of the chosen area of investigation is explained by the fact that it attempts to fill several important gaps in the research on formulaic language. While the previous topics revolved around the acquisition of formulaic language by first language learners or by advanced EFL learners (Wray and Perkins, 2000; De Cock, 2000; Nesselhauf, 2003; Bannard and Lieven, 2012), this topic offers a diverse perspective by making a shift from advanced learners to low-achieving EFL learners and by integrating a non-traditional teaching strategy into the research. Some important resources which can be consulted are the following: 1) The research carried out by Koc and Koc (2017) who explore the impact of video clips on the learning of formulaic sequences by advanced EFL learners. Although this research focuses on advanced learners, it sheds light on the differences between the use of traditional and non-traditional teaching strategies. 2) The academic book of Wood (2015) is essential for delving deep into the phenomenon of formulaic language and into the ways to reinforce formulaic language fluency in both first and second language learners. 3) The small-scaled experiment of Boers et al. (2006) generates crucial findings on the role of formulaic language in developing native-like proficiency of L2 speakers. These may also be in need of amendment.  The assignment should include the following features: 1. motivation for the topic 2. literature review 3. research questions 4. choice of methodology
