Water Crisis in Los Angeles – Political Science

This is meant to be the BODY of a larger PAPER: Introduction: We have chosen to work and gather research that explores the water crisis in various cities across the country. Our research will explore governmental responsibilities that were contracted to the private sector, and the effects of each crisis from a public management/governance perspective (i.e., who was responsible for water management; what is the government’s role in the crisis; how has governance contributed to this ordeal). The paper will be broken into several sections to focus on different cities in each section.The section for this paper is: Los Angeles Water CrisisQuestions to be answered in the essay: 1. How is the water quality assessed?2. What factors led to the crisis /water shortage/contamination?3. Has the water supply increased?key research questions:What are the current cities’ conditions? Have city officials contracted out any form of maintenance of its water management to private organizations?If yes, what responsibilities were contracted out?Who are the key stakeholders involved in the decision-making process, of contracting out this service but also highlighting the stakeholders involved in trying to correct the water issue in these cities? Are these stakeholders the same or have they changed over time?What are the local laws that are governing water shortage and provisions taken?What is the Federal government interventions involved in water sewage?Current Governors’ solutions for the water shortage?Suggested solutions based on all current research:How do we fix the water crisis? What ideas have been presented so far? What is the impact on public health management? How has this shortage affected other areas of public health?
