What exactly is a two-minute elevator speech? A two-minute elevator speech is a short advocacy pitch a public health professional has ready just in case he or she happens have an opportunity to promote public health to a key stakeholder (anyone who is affected by the topic and actions needed – could be decision-makers/influencers, doers/health workers, or community members affected by the problem who can take action). The idea behind a two-minute elevator speech is that, if you happen to be on a 2-minute elevator ride with someone important, you are prepared to concisely advocate for a positive health promotion action! Make sure your message is appropriate for your identified stakeholder. The Content needed for your 2-minute Elevator Speech In about 250 words, answer these 3 main questions. In bullets, I provided content to use to address these main question. Include what works to communicate your message to your intended audience and answer these questions in a concise, clear manner. Analyze what information should be included to make an impact with your message, rather than overload the conversation with EVERYTHING.
