Parents and Children.
Description The relationship between parents and their children is one of the underlined themes present in the plays Fences and A Raisin in the Sun and the novels Go Tell It on the Mountain and Sula. However, some of the actions of the mothers and fathers in these works seem to demonstrate emotional dysfunction rather than loving, familial bonds. In fact the children in some of these works often questioned their parents’ love. Examine the relationships of the parents and their children in the works listed above and in an argumentative research paper discuss the nature of these relationships. Do the parents and children in these works share healthy, loving relationships with each other or do they share relationships that were unhealthy and dysfunctional?
