Description We’ve discussed several different changes that are happening to the population of the US. Thinking about the niche market segments we’ve also discussed, pick a niche market, define that market, and discuss how agencies in that industry can be successful based on those changes. Changing Demographics to Discuss The aging of the largest segment of the population, the Baby Boomers The change in ethnic demographics and increase in minority participation in leisure/recreation/tourism The prevalence of dual-earner families/single-parent families The steady increase of television use Niche Markets can be one or two of the following: Adventure tourism, Dark tourism, Ecotourism/Adventure Tourism, Accessibility/Inclusive tourism, Medical tourism, Rural/Farm and Country tourism, Senior tourism, Voluntourism, Cultural (heritage) tourism, Sports tourism, Urban tourism, Wine tourism, Wedding and honeymoon tourism or Wildlife tourism Assignment Details- Must cover all 4 changing demographic sections, focusing on 1 niche market (may use up to 2 markets, if linked). At least 3 full page, single-spaced. Cite any resources including outside sources, and class lectures/reading materials or powerpoints. Points will be deducted for focusing on single businesses instead of the niche market as a whole (although examples of businesses within the market can be used to describe specific actions taken). Each demographic is worth 5 points, if it is tied directly to the niche market.
