Description NOTE* Please read assignment carefully, if you are not familiar at all with church history/Christianity then it’s likely best you don’t bid on this project. This is a church history paper in 2 sections on Early/Medieval church history (30 CE – 1500 CE) The first section is 1,500 word History and Interpretation Respond to each of the three entries below. 1. Explain changes in belief and practice in the church through the Middle Ages. Prompt: Drawing from different sources, create a summary of the evolution of the sacraments as observed by the Roman Catholic Church. 2. Compare the New Testament image of the church with that of Medieval Catholicism. Prompt: Take one area (e.g., baptism, indulgences, celibacy, administration, priesthood, or other) and describe what you find. 3. Evaluate the goals and results of the Crusades. Prompt: How do you interpret the Crusades? What short-term and long-term results have you discovered? Section 2 is 1,000 words “Application” address the question, “What from Early and Medieval Church History That Can Help the Modern Church toward Its Ideal.” This is your opportunity to identify assumptions, ideas, and methods employed in past history that can be either harmful or helpful.
