Music Concert Report.
Description For this assignment, you will need to PLAN AHEAD. You must attend a Professional-level Classical Music event (symphony orchestra concert, opera, etc.) or a Professional-level Musical Theatre event in order to complete it. If you go to a Musical, find a “professional” rather than a high school or “community” production. In any case, you must find a way to see the orchestra at some point in the performance (they are usually in the “pit” (and yes, that’s what it’s called). Some other types of events may qualify. Check with me if you have questions. If you report on a non-qualifying event, you will receive no credit for this assignment. A good source to find events is sfcv.org. (Not all events on this site are qualifying). Your Assignment Write the equivalent of a 2-3 page (500-750 words) report giving a review of the concert you attended. Your review must include the following: What kind of listener were you at the concert? Why? Give a basic overview of each piece i.e. name, style, etc. What pieces were performed? Name each piece and identify the composer. What was the style of each of the pieces performed? Then provide an in-depth look at a single piece from the concert, with details What was the instrumentation of the orchestra? Did you enjoy the concert? Why or why not?
