Nature of human personality.
Henry was born this morning at 10:29am at Memorial Hospital. Henry weighed 8lbs, 2oz and was 20 inches long. He appears to be a healthy and normal human infant. 1. What is the basic nature of human personality? 2. What influences will shape little Henry’s personality? 3. How will his parents influence the development of his personality? Answer the above questions as if you were a psychologist from each of these theories of personality: 1. Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic Theory (i.e., Freud & Psychoanalysis; and/or Jung, Adler, Horney & Psychodynamic Theory) 2. Social-Cognitive Theory (i.e., Bandura) 3. Humanistic Theory (i.e., Carl Rogers and/or Abraham Maslow) In other words, how do each of these theories and perspectives explain how Henry’s personality will develop? You must answer the questions from all 3 Theoretical Perspectives (as listed above)! Guidelines: 1. Must be 2 pages, double-spaced, 1 inch margins (approximately 1 page per theory) 2. Must be in APA style, including a Title page and References 3. Although this is a creative assignment (e.g., imagining different ways Henry will grow up), you still need to incorporate information from the textbook. Your answers must be informed by each personality theory. You do not have to use additional sources, but you must reference the textbook and cite according to APA rules.
