Gender Roles In Jewish Ghettos of the Holocaust.
Your assignment is to write an essay (3-4 pages, double-spaced) on one or more of the readings assigned for week 5. You may choose from the following: Chapnik, Fink, Unger, and/or Ofer in Ofer and Weitzman, pp. 101-167, or Excerpts from Irene Hauser’s Diary. Your essay should explain and evaluate the author’s argument, identify the author’s intended message and intended audience, and indicate how the text contributes to your understanding of gender roles in the Jewish ghettos during the Holocaust and how it relates to the course themes in general.
