Carolina Academic Press. “Informant testimony is only one of four suspect categories of evidence associated with wrongful convictions (i.e., confessions, eyewitness identification, forensic science, and informants) that is not universally subject to any judicial check.” Covey and Beety 2019 Drawing heavily from your careful reading of the chapter and the citation above, develop an essay identifying at least three serious potential problems created by incentivized informant testimony. Secondly, do you believe police and prosecutors should be allowed to provide incentives in exchange for information from informants? Why or why not?
