Format: 2200 word critique (plus or minus 10%) This assessment aims to: (A) provide an opportunity for you to engage with relevant literature; and (B) to allow you to discuss the leadership theory in light of personal experience. In Part A, you are required to read two journal articles on leadership: Levine, MP & Boaks, J 2014, ‘What does ethics have to do with leadership?Open this document with ReadSpeaker docReader’, Journal of Business Ethics, vol. 124, no. 2, pp. 225–242. Gandolfi, F & Stone, S 2018, ‘Leadership, leadership styles, and servant leadershipOpen this document with ReadSpeaker docReader’, Journal of Management Research, vol. 18, no. 4, pp. 261–269. Your task is to critically analyse the two articles with an emphasis on the theories, values, and assumptions that underpin each article. Your critique will be based on criteria relating to the nature of leadership, the assumptions and values presented in each of the articles and the relationship to leadership practices.

Support your critical analysis using relevant literature and examples from your own work experience/s. Your critique should address the following points using the illustrated structure: Introduction (approx. 200 words) Critique (approx. 1800 words) Provide a brief overview of each article by discussing the authors’ position in the two articles in your own words rather than material you have read. In providing your overview of the articles, consider the following questions: What arguments are the authors trying to raise? Compare and contrast the arguments raised. What theoretical perspective are discussed? What underlying assumptions and implicit arguments are evident? What conclusions have been drawn by the authors? Then, discuss what the authors’ stance means for leaders, followers, organisations, and society: Do you agree with what the authors are saying?
