The main project in BIO300 is the writing of a grant proposal for funding of a research project in a biological discipline. You are the main scientist applying for funds from Excelsior College. The maximum award is US $100,000.00 for a two year project. You will have a chance to discuss your research topic, hypothesis, and methods with fellow class mates and prepare an annotated literature review and outline before submission of the final project. Choose a minimum of five reports published within the last five years and prepare an annotated bibliography (Links to an external site.). Carefully read the research to formulate one or two research questions which you plan to address. List one or two specific hypotheses for each research question, which your research will answer. You should include a title page (APA format) even though the title might still change. Describe the research problem briefly in an introduction and then list your research questions. Below each research question, post the hypothesis which will answer the question. The last part of the report is the annotated bibliography. Please note, the annotated bibliography will be modified to a literature review in the final grant proposal.
