The movie may be accessed through Mercer for free, via Kanopy video streaming Directions for accessing the moviePreview the document 2–Write a 4-7 page essay examining Wise Blood as a piece of Southern literature. Use the themes from p. 4 of the syllabus–not all may be present, and you do not have to address them all. Focusing on just 2 or 3 might be a good strategy (depth of analysis rather than breadth). 3–This IS NOT a summary paper–I’ve read the novel and watched the movie several times, and I don’t need you to rehash it for me. This IS an evaluation of your meeting course objectives (1–close reading/interpretation, 3–articulate text + southern-ness, 5 –articulate themes).
