Compare and contrast the accounts of agriculture presented by Daniel Quinn and Vandana Shiva. What are the similarities and differences between Quinn’s critique of “totalitarian agriculture” and Shiva’s critique of monoculture agriculture? Present an argument for why one of these critiques of agriculture offers a more valuable framework for diagnosing and responding to environmental degradation. Be at least 1,500 words, 12-point Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins, double-spaced, with your name, date, course #, a title, page #s, a works cited page and properly formatted citations for all quotes and paraphrased references to sources. Any citation style is acceptable (MLA, APA, Chicago, etc.) so long as you are consistent throughout the paper. Citation resources are available at the UofM library. Include a self-review in which you explain (~200 words) how the paper meets the assignment requirements (see Paper #1 rubric as a guide for the assignment criteria). The self-review should be placed after the references on the works cited page.
