You should discuss why this scene is important for understanding one of the play’s major themes. One possible theme is the ability of individuals to exert influence or control over masses of people. Another is the theme of racial and national identity as a means of inclusion/exclusion. Yet another is the theme of patriarchal anxiety, influence, and guilt.
